NOTICE OF CONVEYANCE OF INTEREST IN REAL ESTATE PURSUANT TO 24 V.S.A. 1061 The Town of Bennington intends to convey approximately 22.9 acres located on Bowen Road and including a municipal right of way, known as the Jard Property, to the State of Vermont by and through its Board of Armory Commissioners. The conveyance will be in exchange for 0.8 acres of land, more or less, and the building situated thereon, located at 100 Franklin Lane in Bennington, Vermont and known as the National Guard Armory Building. The conveyance is contemplated to take place on or before March 26, 2021. The Jard Property is located at Bowen Road in Bennington, Vermont. The Parcel ID is 45-01-73-01, and the property is composed of one parcel currently held in ownership by the Town of Bennington. As directed by Vermont law, this notice will be posted in three public places within the Town of Bennington, including at the Bennington Town Office, and will be published in one newspaper of general circulation, at least thirty days prior to the date of conveyance. If a petition signed by five percent of the legal voters of the Town objecting to the conveyance of the property is presented to the Town Clerk within thirty days of the date of the posting or the date of the publication, whichever is later, the Select Board will present the question of whether the Town shall convey the property as proposed to a special or annual Town meeting.
