Notice of Ordinance Change The Town of Arlington gives notice of changes to Ordinance #4, previously known as the "Peddler's Ordinance" now entitled the "Mobile Vendor License" ordinance. The full text may be examined at https://arlingtonvermont.org/ vendor-ordinance/ Changes are summarized as: Updates to vendor application to include mobile phone number, email address, and copy of driver's license, remove information otherwise listed on driver's license, and add disclosure of other analogous permits in other municipalities. Application includes question that shifts sales location permission documentation from part of the initial license application to requiring written record of permission that may be obtained once the license is active. Shifts management of mobile vendor license from Clerk to Select Board. Removes requirement for mobile vendor employees to independently apply for this license. Increase length of license from the remainder of the calendar year to 2 years from approval. Adds required policy on number of active vendor licenses. Moves fee for license from ordinance text to required policy. Adds specificity to vending rules. Add specificity to rules of license revocation. Citizens have a right to petition for a vote on this ordinance pursuant to 24 V.S.A. 1973. Petitions must be submitted to the Town Clerk within 44 days of April 19, 2021.
